About Me

Hello! Hola! Ciao! Konnichiwa! 

Thank you for visiting me here! I’m an artist specializing in abstract and minimalistic seascape paintings, as well as assemblage work. I started Laura McKenzie Gallery because I know firsthand the power of art, and the way that filling a home or workspace with meaningful paintings can both inspire and heal. I love to connect with people around the world and contribute to their lives in a positive way. 

My background is in linguistics and art, so I have had the opportunity to learn and speak Spanish, Italian, and Japanese, in addition to my native language of English. My family and I move often, and I’ve been fortunate to have lived in many beautiful places, such as Italy, coastal North Carolina, the California desert, Asia, and Hawaii. After living on various islands for 8 years, we moved to Florida in 2020. Being surrounded by turquoise seas for so many years has greatly influenced my work and my life. All of my work is inspired by the beautiful places we’ve experienced. My most recent abstract pieces all focus on the movement of water, and my minimalistic landscapes depict the sea. I am passionate about environmental conservation, and my assemblage pieces speak about the devastating plastic pollution in our oceans. To read my full bio, please click here.

I regularly donate to trusted conservation organizations, and I am registered with Stripe Climate to donate 1% of my revenue to remove carbon dioxide from our atmosphere.
